Okonomiyaki party


Okonomiyaki is one of Japanese traditionla foods. I made it with my friends for our friends and us. I'm going to write how to make it. flower, eggs, cabbage, pork, and sauce for okonomiyaki. First you need to cut cabbage into small pieces. Next, mix flower, dashi( seaweed broth), and cabbage. Next, you put pork on warm pan, and put mix stuff (you made in the first step) on the pork. Then you turn out it and when the surface looked bright brown, it's done!! I think Okonomi means " you can put anything you want to." Therefore if you like sea foods, you can put them. I sometimes put kimuchi or mochi. It's taste good.Why don't you try this? This time there were a vegetarian and an Islamic believer, so we made some okonmiyaki without pork. Okonomiyaki is good, convenient foods to make many people. I recommend you to make this for home party or something! I hope everyone like this.

International Food Party

On Christmas day, I joined the international party+Christmas party in seminar house 4.
In a seminar house, many international students who came from several countries lived. Some volunteers made each countries traditional foods for the residents. American, Australian, French, Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Japanese made each country food. Team Japanese made okonomiyaki, chirashi sushi, and karaage. Other country teams made burger, tacos, pasta, and other stuff.( I forgot the name of those foods.) There were some foods I never ate. All foods they made were delicious. I wanted to know the recipe. This day was a special day because almost every residents gathered and ate dinner together. I had a great time there.

Karaage was most popular for the international students. I don't know karaage is Japanese traditional food or not. What do you think? I'm going to write how to make karaage. It is so easy. First, you cut chicken into small pieces. Then you put karaage powder on the chicken. Finally, you dip them into hot oil for about 5 minutes. I recommend you to remove oil a little bit from fried chicken by using oil cut paper. You can cook this very easy and fast. Why don't you make them for today's dinner?^^

Japanese OSECHI


Happy new year 2009!
In Japan, many family make several foods for oshougatsu(January 1st through 3rd)before January 1st. This is a Japanese traditional event. These foods are called osechi in Japanese.They make some kinds of foods and pack them into big lunch boxes. I heard from my mother why these traditional food making began. She said," Now, most of grocery stores open from January 1st; however, long time ago they didn't open during oshogatu. Because people couldn't get foods, they start making foods for shougatsu. " The foods in osechi box is not easily rotten. In the box, there are grilled scallops(hotate), fish sausage(kamaboko), tsukudani(chicken, carrot, and burdock etc..), herring roe(kazunoko) and so on. All most all foods are Japanese traditional foods. This picture is my lunch on January 1st. I had a part time job on that day, so I brought this there. I ate osechi for 3 times. I don't want to eat this any more now.

Kimchi Nabe

Recently, it is getting colder. The season of Nabe is coming!!Nabe have various kind of flavor, for example, simple, chanko, motsu, kimchi. This time I made kimchi flavor nabe with my friends. Nabe is so easy to make, and also healthy. The order to make kimchi nabe is following: First, cut green onion and chinese leaves (hakusai), and pork meat. Second, put them into nabe with water and boiled. As you can see in the picture, you may think vegetables were too much. But if you boiled them for several minutes, these got smaller, so it's o.k. Third, pour kimchi sauce and pork meat in it. That's how to make kimchi nabe!! After you have finished eating all vegetables and pork in kimchi nabe, you can make kind of risotto using the rest of soup. You just put rice and eggs in it. I recommend you to eat the risotto with kimchi.
If you eat nabe in this season , your cold body must be warm more. Also, you can held nabe party with your friend!! It's so fun:) Let's enjoy nabe party in this fall and winter!!

kimchi toast

Do you like kimchi? When you eat kimchi, you usually eat with rice, right? You may surprise kimchi and toast really match. It's very simple to make. First, you put kimchi on bread. Second, you put mayonnaise on kimchi. Third, put cheese on it. Finally, you just toast it until cheese melt. That' s all how to make kimchi toast. I made this for my friends several times. All of my friends said this is very nice, and they want to make again. Also, some international students like kimchi very much. I have a story about kimchi in seminer house. I met a guy from Korean. When I and my friends ate hot sauce(unbelievably spicy), our tongue and throat almost die; however, the Korean guy ate it without feeling spicy at all. I thought Korean eat spicy food almost every day, so they are used to eat spicy food. This kimchi toast is not spicy because mayonnaise and cheese make it mild. Bread and kimchi is very nice mix!!

Potato salad

Today, I made potato salad with my friends. Surprisingly, this salad is seemed Japanese food. My friends from America, Australia, Sweden have never eat potato salad; however, they all said this food was delicious! Now, I show you how to make potato salad! First, you prepare three potatoes, a cucumber, two hums, 3 boiled eggs, pepper, salt, and mayonnaise. Second, you peel potatoes and divide them into 8. Then you have to make shredded cucumber and put them into salt water. After few minutes, you have to massage cucumber with salt to remove cucumber moisture. Cut hum into 16 pieces and also cut eggs very smaller. Third, you manish boiled potatos and them put shredded cucmber, hum and egg. Mix them and add salt, pepper, and mayonnaise. These are how to make potato salad. It's very easy. You can change ingredients, for example tuna, onion, minched meat and so on.

New Blog!!^^

I changed my topic about TV dramas to cooking. The purpose of this blog is to share easy cooking recipi with you. I just started to cook this biggining of September. I'm not good at making foods but my skills of cooking getting better now. Also, I hope to show you food all over the world!
This is my first cooking. I made dinner using chicken. I broiled chicken seasoned with pepper, salt, and olieve oil. This is very easy to make! Following is a recipi. First, you have to prepare 200 grams of leg meet of chicken, rose mary, pepper, salt, olieve oil, and a clear plastic bag. Secondly, you just grind pepper and salt on chicken and put it into a clear plastic bag. Third, you pour olieve oil into the bag and also put rosemary into it. Please note that you should this preparation at least a half day ago and lay them in a refrigerator. Fourth, you take out chicken and broile on a hot frying pan. 5-7 minutes broiled need for both sids. That's all how to make this food. I don't know exactly name of this food but I learned from my mother. It's really good taste. I want you to try this. If you have question about this recipi, please let me know!
